Concrete example: dynamic electricity management

Imagine that your solar installation is producing 5000 W and your house is consuming 2000 W. There are 3000 W left available which would normally be fed into the grid.

SWOpti will then:

• Turn on a water heater that requires 2500 W, reducing the injection to 500 W.

But the system goes even further. If someone turns on a hairdryer (not controlled by SWOpti) using 1500 W:

• SWOpti detects that you are importing 1000 W from the grid.
• It will then temporarily switch off a device it controls (for example, the water heater) to use the available solar electricity and avoid buying electricity.
• When consumption decreases, and/or production increases, and/or the hair dryer is no longer used, SWOpti will restart the water heater, always automatically.

All of this happens in real time, with a precision that no other self-consumption optimisation software offers.

Managing the ENEDIS injection limit

In France, ENEDIS limits the injection of electricity into the grid to 3000 W if you do not have an injection contract. Many people think this limits the size of their installation to 3000 W, but this is not true.

Example:

• You have 3 sets of panels, each capable of producing 3000 W (i.e., 9000 W in total).
• SWOpti measures production every 5 seconds and, if the injection exceeds 3000 W, it cuts off a set of panels instantly.
• You continue to fully enjoy your solar installation without ever exceeding the ENEDIS limit.

No other solution offers such fine and responsive control.

Flexible user control

Although SWOpti automatically controls your devices, you retain complete control:

• Force the water heater to run if you have guests, even if solar production is not sufficient.
• Manage specific devices, for example a pool filter that needs to run for a minimum number of hours per day. SWOpti operates the device when solar production (free electricity) is available, then "catches up" if the required number of hours has not been reached.
• All of this is accessible via an ultra-simple yet powerful interface, from your home or remotely, thanks to your internet connection. No data ever leaves your home.

You retain decision-making power. SWOpti only executes what you authorise, and optimises automatically if you let it.

Local and secure operation

SWOpti operates entirely within your home, on a mini-PC (provided) connected to your internet box:

• No data is stored in the cloud or on external servers.
• The software does not need the internet to function.
• If you wish, you can configure your internet box to access SWOpti from outside, for example from your smartphone or PC, while retaining complete local control of the data.
